The art of seduction has always been one of the underlying strengths of the films of William Higgins, and now that he is in the midst of his Silver Anniversary year of directing gay porn movies, it's nice to report that he has not lost his touch. "Misha and Friends" is another one of those idyllic sex marathons set amongst the improbably romantic milieus that Higgins stumbles upon in the Czech Republic, his home for about a decade.
This time we're back at a castle, now a hotel and conference center, about 60 miles north of Prague, the setting of another Higgins flick, "The Jan Dvorak Story." The setting is an excuse for Higgins to introduce his newest puppy, Misha Medved, a lemur-faced twink with the cock of a gorilla, who is said to have made both his screen, and sexual, debut in this flick. A roaring sensation on Higgins' website [ http://WilliamHiggins.com ] over the past year or so, Misha allegedly never touched another man until this movie began. By the end of the flick, it seems like every man in Prague has set his mark on this boy, and shoved his dick up his cute butt as well.
Misha is a bellboy at the hotel, and while riding his bike back from his chores one morning, a hotel guest, Michal, spots him from his room window and calls down to room service to get this boy up to his room with a plate of fruit. Higgins comments in his liner notes on his website that his serendipitous choice of Michal as Misha's first fuck mate was ideal, for this exceptionally sexy, romantic fuck machine is also among the most gentle in Europe in easing new guys into man-sex routines. Probably one of the three or four most peripatetic porn stars in Eastern Europe, Michal is costumed here as a woodsman -- indeed, this film is dedicated to Higgins' new uniform fetish. Virtually every actor has a role-defining costume that adds to the heat of the moment. The joke is that Misha's bellboy outfit is straight out of "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves" -- don't ask, he looks cute, but when the burnoose and the culottes come off, he's all Czech cocksman.

Like most Czechs, Rosta is a tip-of-the-iceberg cocksucker, but one cannot really blame him for not being able to deal with Misha's tool that well -- it's a thick slab which requires a very big mouth. The reason is Vladimir -- a crew-cut, moon-faced, pink-cheeked handsome hunk of a stud with a neat cock but an appetite for sex which is apparent in everything he does. He previously appeared in a scene with Carlo Festa and Cage Kajc (a.k.a. Vilem Cage) in Higgins' "Carlo & Friends," but here he explodes. But, they're not done yet. The house monitor reveals that many of the guests -- all hot hunks, of course -- are stripping naked and going for a swim in the hotel's beautifully restored, idyllic pool. Only Hynek has returned from previous scenes -- the rest are part of Higgins' regular stable of Internet models, some of whom (Russlan, Eric and Vana) have appeared in flicks by other producers. One inside joke here is the cocksucking-chain around the pool that Higgins lines up -- take-off or homage to his classic 1980s California extravaganza, "Class Reunion." It's a nice little touch.
Still, there are no complaints from this corner on any aspect of this flick. Current fans of Higgins will get some peeks at guys who have never appeared in full videos before, and aficionados of Eastern European porn will come to appreciate the special skills of veterans like Michal and Rosta, the evolution of Vladimir Gott into a sex hound, and the stability of Pavel Korsakov in the hands of a master director and cinematographer like Higgins. But even though the movie is built around Misha, and even though he is an enthusiastic and charismatic little star in the making, "Misha and Friends" may stick in your mind because of the debut of Hynek Lukas, who has a chance to join Korsakov, Jirka Kalvoda (a.k.a. Ales Hanek), Jan Dvorak (a.k.a. Pavel Novotny, Max Orloff) and Andel as one of a handful of major stars to emerge from Higgins' lair in Prague.

A bevy of uncut Eastern European cuties strut their stuff in William Higgins's latest, Misha and Friends. Although there is no directorial credit for the sparkling production - only the phrase "William Higgins Presents" at the beginning of the title credits - the film bears many of the hallmarks of the legendary filmmaker but seems to be the work of an acolyte rather than that of the master himself.
A five-scene, two-hour opus set entirely in a picturesque hostelry called the Hotel Aveco, someplace in the Eastern bloc, the film relates the sexual adventures of a bellboy at the place and focuses on his apparent ability to seduce virtually every customer in sight. Cast in this role is a newcomer named Misha Medved, a dark-haired boy-man of the sort so popular in Higgins films, and he appears in every explicit episode. Clearly a novice at male-male sex, he nonetheless gives it his all (including his enticing bubble-butt and beer-can cock), but he is frequently outshone by his costars, several of whom might well have served the film better in the leading role.
In the first scene, Medved is summoned to bring a bowl of fruit to one of the guests, the strikingly handsome, mononamed Michal (who has previously worked in Jan Novak's Studio 2000 International films under the name Ivan Rohan). An aloof, glamorous sex machine, Michael allows the bellboy to feed him and then promptly strips the youth of his quasi-Arabian uniform (turban, flowing shirt, pantaloons and sandals). After a lengthy spate of kissing, Medved kneels to service the guest, who is soon out of his lederhosen and returning the head-giving with the skill of the veteran professional he is. They ease into a 69 briefly before Michal (who drives the scene) rims and fucks Medved's unshaved ass in a variety of positions. Alas, the interaction is often mechanical and thoroughly impersonal, but Michal does manage to deliver a strong money shot.
In the second scene, when Medved brings breakfast in bed to another guest (the mononamed Rostaz) and hand feeds him, the action heats up considerably. Rostaz, a glossily handsome brunet with a patina of fur all over his torso and crotch, is a sight to behold as he sprawls in the bed, his impressive erection tenting his fire-engine-red silk pajamas. After another set-up of food-as-foreplay, Medved (by now less self-conscious in front of the camera and more comfortable with the same-sex action) eagerly suckles Rostaz's delectable cockhead. It's not long before Rostaz orally reciprocates by licking the bellboy's foot, cock and ass. (Medved at one points jacks off his partner with his toes!) The fucking (Rostaz tops) covers many positions, but the most arousing is that one in which Medved is turned ass-over-teakettle and skewered from above. As in the first scene, the star's money shot is not nearly impressive as his partner's.
The high point of the film is the third scene, in which Medved serves coffee in the hotel's gym to a pair of workout buddies (Higgins favorite Pavel Korsakov and a charismatic newcomer named Hylek Lukas). Soon, all three head into the sauna. While the two friends casually chatter away as if nothing unusual is happening, Medved whips out a bottle of baby oil and begins, equally as casually, to grease up Lukas's cock. A masculine beauty with a Caesar cut, hairy body and notable equipment, Lukas is certainly the find of the film - and he's a grower-not-a-shower. Under Medved's ministrations, he soon rises to impressive heights. Before the oral segment of the scene is over, all three have kissed, fondled, jacked off and sucked one another. The anal action, though potent, is somewhat fragmented and includes Lukas lap-fucking Medved and Korsakov doggie-humping him. All three deliver strong money shots, and the scene ends in the shower, with the camera focused on their feet.
The fourth scene introduces another very cameragenic newcomer, the black-haired, crew-cut Vladimir Gott. He plays the hotel's night watchman, who spends his time staring at the closed-circuit security monitors. Asleep at his desk (in paratrooper boots and a sexy black jumpsuit), he is awakened when Medved brings him coffee and once again begins the process of seduction. When the bellboy unzips the front of the jumpsuit (a very hot moment!), Gott's rockhard erection is waiting for him. They suck each other on and around the desk (including a sizzling 69), and the action here is the best lensed of the film. Gott is especially watchable as he tentatively allows himself to be serviced and gradually discovers the pleasures of man-man sex-kissing with palpable tenderness, soon reveling in both getting and giving head, and ultimately proving himself a powerhouse fucker. What's more, he fires off the best money shot of the film.
The finale of the film takes place in the hotel's swimming pool where a team of naked youths discover Medved spying on them and - sort of - take their revenge on him. Although the participants are generally quite handsome, the group action is the least arousing of the production, a patchwork quilt of moments in which the performers pose in a variety of tableaux and self-consciously undertake the sex acts they are asked to perform. The sequence is speckled with shots of their feet, and Medved briefly gets to top - his only time to do so in the entire film.
Misha and Friends, then, is a pleasant little film with a soft ending. It seems to have been made "in the Higgins tradition." Most of the performers are easy on the eyes, the sexual action is well covered by crisp videography, and there are plenty of shots for the foot fetishists out there. The minimal musical scoring, however, is original rather than the classical recordings that have become a Higgins hallmark, the models are generally more hirsute than usual, and there is much more kissing than is customary in recent Higgins films. Whoever directed it, it's worth a look if you are a fan of The King of Prague.
