Leave it to Chi Chi LaRue to be prescient about the collision of gays and the national political scene, and in "Crossing the Line" (1996), the plot is almost more relevant in 2007 than when it was first made. For one thing, it involves a gay Republican, and although now we know that such things exist (in fact, the GOP seems to be aswarm), back in 1996, it wasn't quite so obvious., Hunky Sam Crockett wears the hunky conservative suit like he was born to it, and not just because he has a pronounced Southern accent.
The story begins when Sam and Doug Jeffries have a "What's Up Doc?" moment and switch suitcases. Except in this case, hilarity doesn't ensue -- more like raging testosterone, in fact.
Sly Chi Chi works in some actual footage of gay protesters at the 1996 Republican convention in San Diego to add flavor, but the acting is even more colorful, with all the players showing off their best skills, in both the sex scenes and the rest, too.
Doug walks in on his hosts K.C. Hart and Dax Kelly in the middle of something, and that doesn't mean changing the sheets. They're naked in bed, though, and Doug greets them and leaves them to it. Dax's smooth muscles look amazing as K.C. rims and fingers his ass, and that foreplay leads to a hard fuck, with K.C. slamming into Dax until both blow big loads.
Back to Sam, whose first night at the convention isn't on the floor -- not at the convention center, anyway. After one more run-in with Doug, when they switch suitcases back, Sam heads straight to a bathhouse for some hot, anonymous sex, the kind we now know that Republicans love most (next to online chats, that is).
It's a hot night at the old bathhouse, with Sam immediately running into a sexy trio: Cutter West, Alex Kincaid and Aaron Brandt. About the same time Sam has reached his own idea of heaven, which means watching Cutter plow Alex while he and Aaron trade blowjobs, he realizes Doug is there, too. Oops.
You might think Sam would be a bit less likely to hook up at the convention itself, but you would be wrong, with Buck Phillips putting the heavy moves on him immediately. Both dudes have their button-downs off and are sucking dick faster than you can say "Dole-Kemp."
Not too long after that, Doug once again butts in on Sam's game, and Buck likes it, turning the scene into a scorching three-way in which no one has to compromise his ideals to get exactly what's on his personal agenda.
Finally, Doug and Sam meet yet again, and this time they really go at it. The scene starts with great kissing, moves on to mutual cocksucking and one heck of a great rimming sequence, but when Sam uses his thick meat to make Doug see stars, the scene really rocks.
See, James Carville and Mary Matalin aren't the only ones who can put aside politics to make a romance work.
