In "Reload," director John Rutherford clearly brings back into focus what it means to be a COLT Man with one of the best productions of his career. These images, black-and-white photos and charcoal drawings, appear at the start of each scene.
The first such image morphs into Alex LeMonde and Marcus Iron. Alex is a statuesque hunk with a long, powerful dick and a supermodel-handsome face. For anyone who has seen a Falcon film or two during the last decade (most of which were directed by John Rutherford), it will come as no surprise that Reload - the first film from Colt Studio under his aegis -- is-top-of-the-line erotica. It is shrewdly cast with a dozen hunky men, some of whom look more Falcon-ish, some more Colt-ish but all of whom just exude testosterone. As its title suggests, then, Reload looks both backward to the glory days of Colt and Falcon, and to a future that promises to combine the best of these two landmark studios.
A 90-minute, five-episode loop film, Reload is tied together by the slim motif of dictionary definitions projected at the beginning of each scene -- a device Rutherford has used before -- and each suggests what one may expect of the subsequent action. For example, the first episode is entitled "Manly," and it features two butch specimens who exemplify the word. They are Marcus Iron and Alex LeMonde, who are first discovered, already gloriously naked, on a tiled patio appointed with wicker furniture and surrounded by a jungle of lush verdure. In a series of languid dissolves, they grin, kiss, grope, lap at each other's pecs and stroke their rapidly rising erections.
Iron is the first to go down, and he all but swallows whole LeMonde's airborne hard-on in a bravura display of deep-throating. Then LeMonde reciprocates with equal skill and soon begins to ease a finger into Iron's supple ass. This segues directly into the fucking -- with LeMonde topping -- in four positions: Sitting, standing doggie, missionary, and on all fours over a chaise. The final sequence, entitled "Force," features the two most notable names in the cast, Chase Hunter and Lane Fuller, and it is a pleasure to report that both are aging gracefully. Hunter still sports his brushy moustache, and Fuller has allowed his chest hair to grow in. He has also added a few tattoos since his debut as a boy toy, and he seems to love cock as much as ever.
