Each and every project under Brian Mills' gentle directorial hand immediately catches my interest. And stud Cliff Rhodes looks sultry on the box cover of "The Chest." Equally appealing is Cole Ryan, the young hottie who carries the story.
After his father's death, Cole's character is left to rummage through his pop's personal possessions, including a dusty trunk hidden away in the attic. Much of what we find out about Cole's current situation is through voiceover. He's got an adorable lisp that's barely perceptible, and the lisp makes him that much more appealing. One of the first things Cole finds is a letter dating back to his pop's military days. The scene dissolves to a cave where three soldiers are holed up. We hear the letter being read by its original recipient, Steve Trevor. Apparently old Dad wasn't all that he appeared to be.
The note's salty language and erotic overtones force Steve to release the meat from his cammies. The rustlings of his furious jerking brings Diego de la Hoya a-sniffing, hoping to get a piece of grunt ass. Steve latches onto Diego's dark-skinned cock and goes to town, making enough noise to wake Felipe Carson from a sound sleep. Brian Mills expertly conveys the cloying heat of the attic, the low-slung eaves forcing the boys to keep close to the floor. Simon ends up being the ballsier of the two and makes the first move, brazenly stroking while a studious Cole is trying to keep up with some late-night reading. Simultaneously annoyed and turned on, Cole becomes the aggressor, challenging his bunkmate by shining a flashlight on him so that he is forced to jerk off in the open. What follows is one of the sexiest, most erotically tense mutual masturbation sequences I've seen in some time. Cole stands up and shucks his white undies, but stays put, training the flashlight directly onto his own rock-hard stiffie so that Simon can get a better view. He strokes himself this way -- one hand holding the flashlight in place, the other bringing his pretty cock to full blush.
The boys keep their distance for quite a bit of time, but finally come together to shyly explore with their fingertips. After they take their first few tentative sucks, the slide into a perfect 69. Since both are lean, they seem to be able to snake together especially closely. Turns out that Cole's dad turned more than a few tricks in his short life. Even before his casket is lowered into the earth, two mourners (Tamas Eszterhazy and Nick Marino) sneak off to an abandoned crypt to get it on. The gloomy setting puts a tangible pall on their interaction, and Brian Mills probably isn't the first gay porn director to have his models swapping head in a boneyard. One of Tamas' most remarkable attributes: the wildly laced tattoos that course up and down both of his arms. He looks to be about half the body weight of Nick, a stud an olive-skinned Latino who's built like a linebacker. In the end, Cole relinquishes all his father's possessions to the moving men (Cliff Rhodes, Eric Masterson and Danny Vox). Cliff boldly rifles through "the chest" and uncovers a stack of old posing magazines from the 1950s. And when Cliff gets wood, it's nearly impossible to conceal, especially when duded up in a one-piece jumper that zips up the front. Eric, a pleasant, everyday type with a huge dick, senses the change of current in the room, and doesn't waste this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take care of his buddy's rod. Something about Eric sucking on Cliff's thick dick just clicks, and it's difficult to put to words why it's so damned hot to watch. I found Eric to be almost the anti-porn star (see his interview in the bonus materials), his guy-next-door-ness adding some unexpected sizzle to his encounter with Cliff. I could easily have watched things unfold between these two regular Joes but for a third element added to the mix -- Danny Vox, he's quite furry and a good ten years younger than either of the two men he interrupts.

I'm not fond of watching the same cum-shot replayed again and again, something that's done throughout the film. But it's a minor quibble. There's also no resolution to Cole's story, a bit of a disappointment as it sucked me into the story in the first place. But thinking about the overall film, I find that I'm more than a little in lust with Cole's dopey expression and Cliff's fat dick.
